Lime Leat with Frog & Sleping Mouse

This carving is featured in  WOODCARVING MAGAZINE no, 143, where you can read a step by step process on how to carve this project & how to hold the project securely whilst carving.
The wood used for this project is Lime (Tilia Vulgaris) measuring 240mm long x 170mm wide x 76mm thick.
I chose a Lime leaf for this project as its the timber being used plus the leaf is a  large irregular heart shape which gave lots of freedom on how to fold the leaf.
One of the biggest challenges to this carving was in holding the carving securely whilst carving each side.
On top of the leaf is a stylized frog sitting, on the underside of the leaf is a mouse sleeping under the curl of the leaf.
