Dragons

Here are a few dragons i have carved this first one is carved from recycled Oak and is about 280mm high x 215mm wide x 20mm thick and the knotwork is about 6mm thick and finished with sanding sealer and clear wax.

This pentagram Dragon is also carved from recycled Oak its 340mm high x 250mm wide x 20mm thick and finished in sanding sealer and clear wax.

This Chinese dragon is also carved from recycled Oak its 330mm high x 300mm wide x 20mm thick and finished in sanding sealer and wax.

This Dragon is different as its carved from Lime wood with a textured background on the cross this one measures 250mm high x 150mm wide x 50mm thick its finished in sanding sealer then a couple of coats of finishing oil.

Here is my latest Dragon Its carved from American Cherry it has Acanthus leaves for a tail and its about 320mm long x 225mm high x 25mm thick and is finished with sanding sealer and clear wax.

This little Dragon is featured as a step by step walk-through on how to carve it in the latest edition of the woodcarving magazine  no, 157 July//Aug  2017.
I carved this as a back carved pierced relief which depending on the light creates lots of shadow behind the carving giving it more life and depth.
